Flats in explosion-hit Riga building on Bauska Street sell for from a few hundred to a few thousand euros
Five one-room flats changed owners between late August and late September in the building at Bauskas iela 15 in Riga's Torņakalns district, where an explosion occurred on 2 January. Sale prices ranged from 500 to 9,000 euros.

Property transactions have picked up in recent months at Bauskas iela 15, a residential building in Riga's Torņakalns district where an explosion occurred on 2 January this year. The building is currently uninhabitable, which has affected residents of its 75 flats.
State of the building
After the blast, utilities in the building were disconnected. The roof, structural elements and water pipes were damaged. Andris Vikse, the building's elder, says residents are now scattered in different places, remarking: "Our life blew up." Some owners are still drawing up visions of returning, while others are selling their currently unusable flats.
Scale of sales and prices
Analysts at the data research tool "cenubanka.lv" noted in a post on the social network Instagram that five one-room flats changed owners between late August and late September. The recorded sale amounts were 500, 700, 4,000, 8,000 and 9,000 euros.
The flats are just over 40 square metres, so the price per square metre ranged from 12 to 207 euros. The cheapest flats are on the fourth and fifth floors, while the comparatively pricier ones are on the second and third.
New listing
On 22 October, another offer appeared on the classifieds portal ss.lv: a ground-floor flat in the building priced at 9,900 euros. Judging by the photos, the flat is tidy and well furnished.
