Fenerbahçe strengthens defense with Dutch international Aké
Fenerbahçe has signed Nathan Aké from Manchester City, fulfilling president Aziz Yıldırım's campaign promise. The 31-year-old defender arrives after winning the English League Cup and FA Cup last season.

Turkish Süper Lig club Fenerbahçe has officially announced the signing of Netherlands international defender Nathan Aké from Manchester City. The 31-year-old had one year remaining on his contract with the English champions.
The transfer fulfills a promise made by club president Aziz Yıldırım during his election campaign. In the previous season, Aké made 32 appearances for Manchester City, helping the club win both the English League Cup and the FA Cup, while they finished second in the Premier League.
At the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Aké represented the Netherlands, who reached the round of 16 before losing to Morocco on penalties. The defender played three matches in the tournament, starting two of them.
Fenerbahçe finished the previous Turkish league season in second place, three points behind city rivals Galatasaray. Their last league title came in 2014. Aké is expected to join the team after his vacation and participate in the club's pre-season camp in Austria.
