Starmer Delivers Private Speech to Staff After Resignation Announcement
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, after announcing his resignation, gave a private thank-you speech to staff at the government residence.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who announced his resignation on June 22, delivered a non-public speech to staff at the government residence after his public statement, thanking them for their work. According to The Guardian, as reported by Ukrainska Pravda, Starmer particularly thanked those who had been with him from the very beginning.
He said that their “superhuman efforts, acts of kindness, and overtime work” were for the good of the nation and had been noticed and appreciated. “It will matter to people you will never meet, who will never know what you did. That is what truly matters,” Starmer was quoted as saying.
He also thanked those who worked in the building, caring for his wife and children, and who spent time meeting people face-to-face in the garden over tea or coffee.
Recall that on June 22, Starmer announced that his time in office had come to an end. On June 19, the results of the by-election in the Makerfield constituency were announced – Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham won. This victory paved the way for him to stand as a candidate for Labour leader and thus for prime minister, in opposition to Starmer.
