New ferry to run between Estonia and Finland
Shipping companies Viking Line and TT-Line will open a new ferry route between the port of Muuga in Estonia and Vuosaari port in Helsinki. The ferry Huckleberry Finn will begin regular sailings in the first quarter of 2027.

Shipping companies Viking Line and TT-Line are launching a new ferry route linking the port of Muuga in Estonia with Vuosaari port in Helsinki, the Finnish capital. The route will carry both freight and passengers, with regular sailings due to start in the first quarter of 2027.
The companies say the aim of the partnership is to develop ferry traffic between Estonia and Finland, adding to the transport links that already exist.
The vessel
The route will be served by the ferry Huckleberry Finn, which has a 1A ice class. The vessel is owned in equal shares by the two companies. It can carry up to 400 passengers, and its freight capacity is 2,240 lane metres.
Comments from company executives
Viking Line chief executive Markus Risberg says the cooperation with TT-Line will allow the companies to develop ferry traffic between Muuga and Vuosaari by drawing on the experience of both.
Harri Tamminen, freight director at Viking Line, stresses that demand for freight transport between Estonia and Finland is high. According to him, sufficient capacity and reliable sailings are particularly important to customers.
Existing routes
At present, regular ferry services between Estonia and Finland run on two main routes. Several passenger and vehicle ferries operate between Tallinn and Helsinki, including MyStar, Megastar, Viking XPRS, Finlandia and Victoria I. On the Muuga–Vuosaari route, the company Eckerö Line provides freight and passenger-with-vehicle transport using the ferry Finbo Cargo.
