German Franz Reindl elected new IIHF president, Latvia's Kozioļs re-elected to Council
At its congress in Tenerife, the International Ice Hockey Federation elected Germany's Franz Reindl as its new president, while Latvian businessman and hockey official Viesturs Kozioļs was re-elected to the IIHF Council.

The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) elected a new president at its congress held today in Tenerife. Franz Reindl of Germany was chosen to lead the organization, the IIHF announced.
At the same congress, elections were also held for the federation's Council. Latvian businessman and hockey official Viesturs Kozioļs retained his seat, being re-elected to the Council.
The IIHF is the international body overseeing the development of ice hockey and international competitions, including world championships. Its president and Council members are chosen at federation congresses attended by representatives of member countries' national hockey associations.
