Daniel Mullins' card game Inscryption discounted to just $8 on Steam

Online retailer Humble is currently selling the acclaimed deckbuilder Inscryption for nearly a third of its usual price. The discount comes as developer Daniel Mullins showcased his upcoming title Pony Island 2: Panda Circus at Gamescom 2026.

Digital storefront Humble is currently offering the Steam version of Inscryption for $7.99, down from its typical price of around $20. The discounted version is compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux systems.

Inscryption was created by developer Daniel Mullins, and the sale arrives shortly after a trailer for his upcoming game, Pony Island 2: Panda Circus, was shown during the Gamescom 2026 announcements. That reveal has renewed attention on Mullins' earlier work, with Inscryption frequently cited as one of his standout releases.

What the game offers

Inscryption begins as a relatively conventional deckbuilding roguelike with a dark, unsettling tone. As players progress, however, the game shifts direction repeatedly, blending genres, breaking the fourth wall, and unfolding into a twisted, surprising narrative.

According to the source coverage, much of the game's appeal comes from discovering these twists firsthand, which is why specific plot details are being withheld. The recommendation is to go into the game knowing as little as possible beforehand.

The title is described as a personal favorite among games of its kind, and the current discount offers an inexpensive way to experience Mullins' distinctive style ahead of the release of Pony Island 2.
