Steiner predicts Russell joining Audi

Speaking on The Red Flags Podcast, Steiner said George Russell could be tempted to leave Mercedes and join Audi's factory project in 2028. The key factor, according to Steiner, is the impressive form of Russell's teammate Kimi Antonelli. The young Italian currently leads the championship, which is forcing Russell to think about his future.

Steiner believes Russell is already looking around. He knows he is partnered with Antonelli and does not want to spend the rest of his career racing alongside the talented Italian. As a result, the British driver is searching for opportunities that would allow him to be the clear focal point.

Steiner also spoke about Audi's plans, noting there is great interest among drivers in joining the team in 2028. The lineup for next year is already settled, but a seat could become available in 2028, making the project attractive for top drivers.
