Heavy Rain Causes Large Puddles in Tukums, Latvia
Heavy rainfall on Saturday created large puddles in Tukums near a shopping center and the railway station, while a yellow thunderstorm warning was issued for all of Latvia.

Heavy Rain in Tukums
On Saturday, residents of Tukums experienced large puddles caused by intense rainfall. According to an eyewitness, the areas near the "Rimi" supermarket and the railway station—traditionally problematic spots—were flooded again. The witness described the weather as alternating: after a heavy downpour, the sun came out, then it rained again.
Thunderstorm Warning
The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center forecasted thunderstorms for some parts of the country on Saturday. A yellow thunderstorm warning was in effect from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. across Latvia. The warning advises people to seek shelter indoors, as outdoor activities may be disrupted. Extra caution is needed in areas exposed to thunderstorms, such as forests and open fields.
Possible Consequences
During thunderstorms, power outages may occur; strong wind gusts can break tree branches or carry loose objects. Heavy rain can cause rapid water level rise and flooding in low-lying areas. Drivers should be aware of reduced visibility and the risk of aquaplaning. Hail is also possible, which could damage crops.
The highest probability of heavy rainfall was in the western and central regions of the country, including Tukums.
