€128.8 Million Allocated for Construction of Stradins Hospital A2 Building
The construction of the new A2 building at Paula Stradins Clinical University Hospital will receive €128.8 million in funding from EU funds to modernize infrastructure and improve medical care conditions.

Funding for the new A2 building will come from the European Union's 2021–2027 planning period, reallocating resources from the European Regional Development Fund and the Cohesion Fund. The total amount, including VAT, is €128.8 million. The project aims to enhance the treatment environment and modernize hospital infrastructure, providing modern conditions for both patients and medical staff. The A2 building is crucial for ensuring the continuity of clinical university hospital-level treatment profiles and developing medical services. Currently, the Emergency Medical Center operates under limited infrastructure, but the new building will allow more efficient patient admission organization. The state-owned company "Valsts nekustamie īpašumi" (VNĪ) will manage the construction process under a tripartite agreement between the Ministry of Health, PSKUS, and VNĪ. Paula Stradins Clinical University Hospital is one of the largest multidisciplinary medical institutions in Latvia, providing both emergency and planned care, and is the only hospital in the country performing organ transplants. It employs over 3,500 staff.
