The Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital will host practical activities of the comprehensive national defense exercise «Namejs 2026» on September 18–19, 2026. The hospital is asking visitors and local residents not to be alarmed, as patient care will continue as usual.

The Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital has announced that on September 18 and 19, 2026, its grounds will host practical activities as part of the comprehensive national defense exercise «Namejs 2026».
During these two days, soldiers, National Guard members, and military equipment will be visible on the hospital premises as part of the planned exercise.
Call for calm
Hospital administration is asking patients, staff, visitors, and residents of the surrounding Āgenskalns neighborhood not to be concerned by the visible military presence. Officials emphasized that the exercise will not affect the hospital's regular operations — patient care will continue as normal throughout both days.
The «Namejs» exercises are part of Latvia's broader national defense preparedness efforts, during which cooperation between military structures and civilian institutions, including the healthcare sector, is tested at various locations across the country.
