Štrombahs and Ozoliņš slip slightly in ATP rankings
In the latest ATP singles rankings, Latvia's top player Roberts Štrombahs lost a few spots while Kārlis Ozoliņš also dropped, as Artūrs Žagars claimed an M15 doubles title.
The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) has released its updated world rankings, showing minor changes for Latvia's players. National number one Roberts Štrombahs slipped from 410th to 415th place, while Latvia's second-ranked player, Kārlis Ozoliņš, dropped from 665th to 667th.
Last week's ATP 250 tournament in North Carolina was won by Peru's Ignasio Buse. Meanwhile, 19-year-old Latvian player Artūrs Žagars celebrated success at a lower-tier event, winning the doubles title at an M15 tournament.
Doubles rankings shift
In the doubles rankings, Štrombahs reached a career-high position of 233rd. Žagars sits at 1339th in doubles, making him the country's third-ranked player in that discipline.
Italy's Jannik Sinner remains atop the ATP singles rankings, followed by Germany's Alexander Zverev and Spain's Carlos Alcaraz. Among other Latvian players, Rihards Neimanis holds 1657th place and Mārtiņš Rocēns is 1838th.
Next week, Latvia's top-ranked player Štrombahs will compete at a Challenger event in Bulgaria, where his first-round opponent will be a qualifier.
