BMX rider Veronika Monika Stūriška has concluded her U-23 career with a notable achievement. Taking part in the World Championships in July, she earned a silver medal in what marked her last appearance in this age group. The result highlights her progression in the sport and signals a promising transition to the senior level.

The move to the elite ranks is a natural step for riders who have outgrown the younger age category. At this level, competition is considerably tougher, with the world’s top BMX racers vying for victories. Adapting to this environment will require a high level of physical and mental preparedness, as well as consistent performances in major international events.

For the coming years, the primary objective for Stūriška will be to secure a place at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Qualification for the Olympics in BMX racing is based on points accumulated over a defined period. Thus, she will need to compete regularly in World Cup rounds and other important competitions to build a strong ranking.

Although the silver medal in the U-23 group is a significant accomplishment, the elite category presents a new set of challenges. Riders there are more experienced and often faster, meaning that further improvement will be essential. Yet the transition also offers an opportunity to demonstrate her abilities on a larger stage and take a step closer to her Olympic dream.

Stūriška can now look back on her U-23 years with satisfaction, knowing she ended that chapter on a high note. The next few seasons will be crucial as she aims to establish herself among the elite and ultimately earn a spot in Los Angeles.
