Soodalinn Theatre Director: Artistic Director Meets Required Estonian Language Level
Soodalinn Theatre director Anne-Li Päiv has confirmed that artistic director Dmitry Petrenko speaks Estonian at the required level, and his re-election was unanimous.
Soodalinn Theatre director Anne-Li Päiv, commenting on the re-election of Dmitry Petrenko as the theatre's artistic director, confirmed that Petrenko's Estonian language skills meet the necessary requirements.
Päiv stated that Petrenko speaks Estonian at the required level and continues to improve his knowledge, having studied the language seriously for three years. In an interview released by the theatre on social media, she noted that it was precisely his command of the state language that set him apart from other candidates.
The competition for the artistic director position received 13 applications, with four of the strongest candidates invited for interviews. Among them were theatre actor and director Artyom Gareyev, as well as Estonian director Andres Puustusmaa.
Päiv highlighted that the decision to re-elect Petrenko, who has held the position since 2023, was unanimous.
