Solbakken: Players Deep Down Feel They Can Beat England
Norway head coach Ståle Solbakken says his team believes they can defeat England in the World Cup quarterfinal, but they must deliver their best performance.

Norway's national team head coach Ståle Solbakken has expressed confidence that his side can beat England in the World Cup quarterfinal, while stressing the need for a flawless display.
“The most important thing is to be ourselves when we have the ball – to dare to play our game and focus on what happens on the pitch, not letting the surroundings affect us,” Solbakken told the media. “I want to see a Norway team that uses its strengths and shows its identity.”
The coach stated that players deep down feel they can overcome England, but warned: “If we don’t show our absolute best, England will go through.”
Due to the heat in Miami, the team has reduced training intensity. “We’ve been training in a very light mode. Emphasis was on tactics at a lower tempo, and sessions were not long. Now the main thing is to be fresh tomorrow,” Solbakken added.
The England vs. Norway match kicks off at midnight (local time) on July 12 at the Miami stadium.
