Suntažs wins javelin throw at Continental Tour meet in Copenhagen
Latvian athlete Krišjānis Suntažs claimed victory at a World Athletics Continental Tour bronze level javelin competition in Copenhagen on Monday with a throw of 77.11 meters.

Krišjānis Suntažs of Latvia secured a win at the World Athletics Continental Tour bronze level javelin throw competition in Copenhagen on Monday.
He achieved victory with a throw of 77.11 meters in the fourth attempt, which he later repeated in the sixth and final attempt. His first throw measured 75.68 meters, the second was invalid, the third reached 73.90, and the fifth went 73.21 meters.
This season, after returning to competition, Suntažs has recorded throws of 77.35 and 77.32 meters. The only better marks of his career – 79.23 and 77.75 meters – came at the 2019 European U20 Championships, where he won a silver medal.
The runner-up was Czech athlete Alexandr Čača with 76.86 meters, while Dane Arthur Petersen took third place with 76.05 meters. A total of eight athletes started, but initially registered Latvian Gatis Čakšs did not participate.
