Suntazs wins javelin competition in Copenhagen
Latvian javelin thrower Suntazs won in Copenhagen on Saturday with a throw of 77.11 meters.

Latvian javelin thrower Suntazs secured victory at an international competition in Copenhagen. His best throw measured 77.11 meters, achieved on his fourth attempt and repeated on his sixth.
His first throw was 75.68 meters, the second was invalid, and the third and fifth were 73.90 and 73.21 meters respectively. This season, after returning to competition, Suntazs has already recorded throws of 77.35 and 77.32 meters. He has thrown even farther only at the 2019 European U20 Championships, where he earned a silver medal with throws of 79.23 and 77.75 meters.
Second place in Copenhagen went to Czech athlete Aleksandrs Čača with 76.86 meters, while Dane Artūrs Pētersens took third with 76.05 meters. Eight athletes competed, but initially entered Gatis Čakšs did not participate.
