The building housing Suntaži Primary School, which opened in 1984, has undergone the most extensive interior renovation in its history. The work covered all three floors, including classrooms, corridors, flooring, electrical wiring and lighting.

The biggest changes were made to the science, computing, design and technology classrooms. The school gained a new library and reading room, wireless internet was installed, and classrooms were equipped with interactive screens that replaced the old projectors, allowing teachers to both present and create learning materials during lessons.

Spaces designed to encourage collaboration

School principal Mārtiņš Leja named the unified, bright and modern learning environment as one of the greatest benefits of the renovation. The new layout was designed to encourage cooperation — for instance, the computing classroom is located next to the design and technology rooms, letting students turn ideas created on a computer into practical projects. Teachers' work will also change, as several teachers of related subjects will now share a single classroom, which the principal hopes will encourage them to meet and collaborate more often.

This school year, 163 students will attend Suntaži Primary School, including 13 first-graders. As in the previous year, the school will continue operating without a traditional bell, encouraging students to track time and organize their own day.

The principal stressed that attractive, modern premises alone are not enough — the space must also be filled with quality content. The school's goal is to help every child achieve the best possible results according to their abilities and needs.

During an open house event, visitors, including parents and former graduates, praised the bright and welcoming atmosphere as well as the new technological capabilities. Students explored the renovated classrooms with curiosity and tried out the new desks, with several saying they could hardly wait for the school year to begin.
