On Saturday, the political alliance "Suverēnā vara"/"Jaunlatvieši" submitted its candidate lists for the upcoming Saeima elections this autumn. The party has put forward 125 candidates. In all five electoral districts, the most visible party politicians and board members have been chosen as list leaders. This move signals the party's readiness to compete for seats in parliament.

The party's election program focuses on tax policy and infrastructure projects. Specifically, the program calls for not raising taxes for five years to promote economic growth and stability. Additionally, it urges the freezing of construction of the "Rail Baltica" railway project, which has recently sparked debates over its costs and benefits. These proposals reflect the party's desire to reduce state spending and prioritize other areas.

Submitting candidate lists is one of the first official steps before the elections, indicating the alliance's intention to actively participate in the political process. Further details about the party's platform and candidates are expected in the near future.
