Switzerland falls to Romania after Romanians' loss to Latvia

In the Group D standings of the European volleyball championship, Romania's national team secured a win over Switzerland, bouncing back after an earlier defeat to Latvia.

Romania's top scorer was Alexandru Ratu with 16 points. Florian Bela Barta also reached double digits, scoring 10 points. Barta, however, struggled most with serving among his teammates, making errors on five of his 14 serve attempts. Still, he stood out as Romania's best blocker, earning five points through blocking.

On the Swiss side, three players surpassed the ten-point mark — Julian Waisig and Lars Migue each scored 13 points, while Joel Hauck added 12. Hauck was also Switzerland's top blocker, contributing six points at the net.

Upcoming matches

Romania will face Germany tomorrow evening, while Switzerland's next match is against Turkey on Sunday.

Group standings

After this round, Germany leads Group D with two wins and no losses. Romania, with one win and one loss, sits in third place, while Latvia also holds one win and one loss. Switzerland remains last in the group, in sixth place, having yet to record a win in two matches.
