Switzerland routs Bosnia and Herzegovina in World Cup qualifier

Switzerland defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina 4-1 in the second round of Group B, moving to four points and topping the group standings.

Switzerland cruised to a 4-1 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina in a World Cup 2026 qualifying match on Tuesday, with all five goals coming in the second half.

Substitute Johan Manzambi scored twice, netting in the 74th and 90th minutes. Ruben Vargas made it 3-0 in the 84th minute. Bosnia pulled one back in stoppage time through Ermin Mahmic, but Granit Xhaka sealed the win with a penalty.

Bosnia played the final 10 minutes with ten men after defender Tarik Muharemovic was shown a red card in the 80th minute.

Switzerland now lead Group B with four points, while Bosnia have one. In the final round on June 24, Switzerland face Canada, while Bosnia take on Qatar.
