One killed, five injured in shooting at Swiss party

A shooting in Switzerland has left one person dead and five others injured, some of them seriously, according to Sky News citing law enforcement sources, as reported by "European Pravda."

According to preliminary information, the shooting took place during a rave party. Local police reported hearing shots overnight in the Schachen district of the town of Aarau, after which a large-scale police operation was launched.

Authorities urged residents and other members of the public to stay away from the area where the operation is taking place. Because of the incident, police cordoned off a local racetrack, swimming pool, and sports ground.

The motive behind the shooting and the exact circumstances of the incident remain unknown for now. Police continue to search for suspects and are working to establish further details of the attack.

Other recent shootings in Europe

The report also referenced several other recent shooting incidents across Europe. On 23 August, a shooting in the Brussels municipality of Saint-Gilles left one person injured — a day after a police station in another municipality of the Brussels-Capital Region, Anderlecht, came under gunfire.

Last month, an unknown attacker opened fire on police in the Danish town of Nørresundby, injuring three people, including one police officer. In May, in Nice, France, two people were killed and at least three injured in a shooting carried out by an unidentified attacker on a scooter.
