After losing ministerial post, Švinka heads Saeima subcommittee
Atis Švinka, who lost his ministerial position, was elected on Wednesday as head of the Innovation Ecosystem Development Subcommittee of the Sustainable Development Commission.

The Innovation Ecosystem Development Subcommittee of the Saeima's Sustainable Development Commission on Wednesday, June 17, elected Atis Švinka as its chairman. Švinka had previously lost his ministerial post, but has now taken on a leading role in this subcommittee.
Previously, the subcommittee was chaired by Andris Kulbergs, who is currently serving as Acting Prime Minister. Atis Labucis will continue to serve as secretary of the subcommittee, a role he has held before.
According to the Saeima rules of procedure, a commission may establish up to two subcommittees for preparatory work or special tasks. The subcommittee may also include members who are not part of the commission, provided they consent.
