For the fifteenth time, the art plenary in Svitene is underway, founded by painter Īra Rozentāle. This year it runs from July 13 to 19, bringing together 30 artists who draw inspiration from the landscapes around Svitene, the garden of Rundāle Palace, and the summer of Zemgale. The works reflect the region's cultural and natural heritage.

Organizer Sandra Kerēvica notes that Rozentāle's idea is to build a collection of paintings for Svitene – each artist leaves one work. The collection now contains over 200 pieces, available for public viewing, with groups even visiting to see them.

Participants this year include Anda Sproģe, Olita Dzelzkalēja, Dace Ērenpreisa, Egils Neihofers, Inga Jaunzeme-Grīnvalde, Vita Beikerte, Zane Bērziņa, Līga Jukša, Andrejs Bovtovičs, Eva Barton, Emīls Kristians Muzikants, Katrīna Sēle, Maija Bērziņa, and Rozentāle herself, among others.

On the closing day, Sunday, July 19, at 2:00 PM, Īra Rozentāle will lead a masterclass on complementary colors in French post-impressionist and Latvian painting. At 4:00 PM, the plenary exhibition opens at the Svitene Community Center, where visitors can see the works created during the week and meet the artists. At 6:00 PM, Aivars Birzmalis will give an acoustic concert featuring poetry by Imants Ziedonis at the Community Center grounds.

The plenary has become a significant summer cultural tradition, enriching the region's cultural life and fostering public interest in visual arts.
