Championship side Swansea City have signed Canada international midfielder Stephen Eustaquio from Porto for an undisclosed fee reported to be around £3.4m.
Swansea City have completed the signing of Porto midfielder Stephen Eustaquio for a fee that has not been officially confirmed but is believed to be in the region of £3.4m.
The 29-year-old Canada international has signed a two-year contract with the Championship club, which includes an option to extend the deal by a further season.
A notable addition
The move is being viewed as a strong piece of business for Swansea, given Eustaquio's extensive experience at both club and international level.
Head coach Vitor Matos praised the new arrival, describing him as an experienced leader with strong technical ability and a sharp understanding of the game. Matos said Eustaquio's qualities would add depth to the midfield options already available at the club, and that he brings an exceptional level of professionalism.
The coach added that he expects Eustaquio to become an important figure for the team, both on and off the pitch, and predicted that supporters would enjoy watching him in a Swansea shirt.
