Take-Two Subpoenas Microsoft and Discord Over Leaked GTA VI Footage
After multiple video clips from Grand Theft Auto VI leaked online, publisher Take-Two Interactive has subpoenaed Microsoft and Discord to identify those responsible for the copyright infringement. The companies have until September 4th to comply.

Take-Two Interactive has filed subpoenas against Microsoft and Discord over a series of leaked video clips from its upcoming title Grand Theft Auto VI, according to a Kotaku report. The subpoenas were filed on Thursday.
In the filings, Take-Two states that the leaked material infringes on copyrights it holds, including "audiovisual content, artwork, images, dialogue, or other creative elements." The company is seeking to identify the individuals allegedly responsible for the infringement. Both Microsoft and Discord have been given until September 4th to hand over the requested information.
What the leaked clips show
The leaked footage carries a watermark from a person or group operating under the name "CyberLeek." The clips reportedly show one of the game's two protagonists, Jason Duval, engaged in various activities such as driving, flying a plane, using a taser, and attacking someone with a wrench. In one clip, the player uses gunfire to spell out the word "LEEK" on a wall.
Neither Discord nor Microsoft has responded to requests for comment on the matter.
The leaks emerged shortly before Rockstar Games' scheduled extended preview of the game, which is set to premiere on Netflix on August 27th. The full release of Grand Theft Auto VI remains planned for November 19th.
