Estonian cinema chain Kino Sõprus held its first open-air screening last week in Priisle Park, located in Tallinn's Lasnamäe district. More than 400 people attended to watch Veiko Õunpuu's 2007 film "Sügisball," a fitting choice since the acclaimed movie was originally filmed in the same Lasnamäe area.

Summer cinema continues in the Old Town

The outdoor screening in Lasnamäe is part of a broader summer cinema series run by Kino Sõprus. From August 21 to 23, screenings continue at Harjumägi in Tallinn's Old Town, featuring three different films: "The Holy Mountain," "Kitchen Stories" and "Forrest Gump." Each screening starts after sunset, at roughly 9:30 p.m.

The cinema chain has indicated that further outdoor screenings are planned in various locations across Tallinn in the coming weeks, continuing its effort to bring cinema experiences beyond traditional theater venues and closer to residents in different parts of the city.
