Five events will take place in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, between 2 and 8 November. The news site Estonian World, working with the events platform Gamma, picked them as the week's most notable. The line-up includes a concert, a language practice evening, two stand-up comedy shows and a celebration of Diwali, the Indian festival of lights.

Music and languages

On Monday, 2 November, at 7pm, two Grammy-nominated musicians perform at Niguliste Museum in Tallinn: Austrian composer and percussionist Manu Delago, who has collaborated with Björk and Anoushka Shankar, and American dulcimer player Max ZT. The duo released their debut album, Deuce, earlier this year and have since gone on an international tour.

On Tuesday, 3 November, at 7.30pm, the venue Heldeke! hosts BlaBla Language Exchange & Make Friends, a free and informal evening for meeting people and practising languages. Conversations take place in English, Estonian or any language participants share.

Stand-up comedy

On Thursday, 5 November, from 6pm, British comedian Emmanuel Sonubi performs his show Life After Near Death at Telliskivi Komöödiaklubi. It recounts how he survived heart failure while on stage. He has been nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award and the Chortle Award.

On Friday, 6 November, California-based comedian Frankie Marcos appears at the same club with his Euro Step Tour. He won the 2024 San Francisco International Comedy Competition, and his online content reaches more than 10 million viewers a month.

Diwali in Tallinn

On Saturday, 7 November, from 5.30pm, the Tallinn Music and Ballet School hosts Diwali celebrations organised by the Indian Association of Estonia. The programme includes cultural performances, music from Bollywood to Bhangra and a food bazaar with Indian dishes. Food and drinks are sold separately, and visitors are encouraged to wear festive clothing.
