Missing parrot Robby found in Tallinn, owners pay finder promised 700 euros
A parrot named Robby that went missing in Tallinn for eight days has been returned home, with its owners paying the finder the promised 700-euro reward.
A parrot named Robby that flew away from its home in Tallinn has made headlines after being found and reunited with its owners, Anastasia and Kirill Belyakov, who shared the story on the "Летний горизонт" show.
Kirill Belyakov explained that the bird panicked after being startled by a paper towel roll core and flew out of a window at speed. The search for the parrot lasted eight days.
According to Belyakov, Robby ended up on private property, first landing on a car roof before moving to a shed. He believes the property owner, named Kevin, then took the bird home.
The couple had promised a reward in a social media post, and they followed through, paying Kevin 700 euros as agreed.
Anastasia Belyakova said that during the eight days of searching there was no trace of the bird — no footprints, photos or videos. The family never considered that the parrot might have died, believing instead that someone was holding onto it while waiting for a larger reward. The reward started at 500 euros before being raised to 700 euros, and Belyakova said it likely would have grown further within days, given how much the bird means to the family.
Such a parrot is valued at around 2,500 euros.
