Abandoned tarantula found outside Tallinn building, taken to shelter

A caged tarantula was found abandoned outside a building in Tallinn's Kristiine district, and rescuers brought the spider to the Paljassaare animal shelter. The incident occurred on the evening of September 12.

On the evening of September 12, a cage containing a live tarantula was discovered abandoned in the Kristiine district of Tallinn. The Alarm Centre was notified after someone noticed the cage left outside a building on Madara Street.

According to the press service of the Northern Rescue Centre, the person who reported the find first tried calling the Animal Help Service, but no one answered. They then contacted the Alarm Centre instead.

Rescuers from the Lilleküla brigade responded to the call, collected the spider and transported it to the Paljassaare animal shelter.

No details were released about how the tarantula ended up outside the building or who its owner might have been.
