The traditional charity Pokrov Fair will be held on Sunday, 18 October, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mere Culture Centre, formerly the Russian Culture Centre. The report comes from ERR, Estonia's public broadcaster, and the source does not name the city. This is the 12th edition of the fair, and admission is free.
Programme
The fair will be formally opened at 1 p.m. At 3 p.m., singer and actress Yekaterina Kordas will perform in the Small Hall. At 4 p.m., Polina Cherkasova and her musicians will give a concert in the foyer and introduce visitors to rare antique musical instruments.
Stalls and participants
The tables will offer autumn produce, handmade items and home-made treats. All money raised will go to support Sunday schools for children at Orthodox churches.
Visitors can get first-hand information about Orthodox general education schools: the School of St John of Shanghai and the School of St John the Theologian (Püha Johannese Kool). They can also talk to Orthodox charitable and youth organisations.
Guests of the fair will include the book publishers KPD and Aleksandra, as well as the Südalinna Theatre.
