The embassy announced the event on social media, noting that it was attended by embassy staff and representatives of the local Ukrainian community.
Ukraine's ambassador to Estonia, Volodymyr Boyechko, said that the pain of losing loved ones has touched nearly every Ukrainian family. He also specifically paid tribute to Estonian volunteers who died defending Ukraine, noting that among the flags placed on Kyiv's Independence Square in memory of fallen defenders, Estonian flags can also be found.
Participants observed a moment of silence for the fallen. The ceremony included the performance of Ukraine's national anthem and the song "Prayer for Ukraine," followed by a memorial service. The event concluded with a screening of the documentary film "Hamlet Syndrome."
