Tallinn Municipal Public Transport (TLT) has expanded its bus fleet with 30 new gas-powered buses manufactured in Turkey by BMC. The first of these buses began service on July 1, and all 30 are expected to be operational in the coming weeks.
The new buses feature a low-floor design and are equipped with air conditioning, improving passenger comfort. Their acquisition is part of TLT's fleet renewal program.
Deputy Mayor of Tallinn, Joel Jesse, has stated that TLT and the city government are considering exercising an option to purchase an additional 60 buses of the same type from BMC.
The purchase of the 30 buses cost approximately €12 million. The buses run on biomethane produced in Estonia, supplied by the company Bioforce.
