In early July, the Kesklinn district government in Tallinn signed a contract for the acquisition and installation of 28 new street urns, according to a press release from the district office. The new urns will be placed in several parts of the district, including Kitseküla, Kassisaba, Juhkentali, Tõnismäe, Kadriorg, Hirve Park, and the vicinity of the Old Town.

The supplier and installer for the project is Dambis Eesti OÜ. The work is scheduled to be completed within nine weeks from the date the contract was signed. Specific locations include the corner of Meeta and Madli streets, the area around Jalgpalli and Marta streets, the corner of Asula põik and Asula street, near the playground on Kauba street, on Vase street, the corner of Gildi and Jakobi streets, on Püssirohu street, in the E. Särgava square, in Hirve Park near the J. Pitka square, near Nunne street and Toompark, on Koidu street, the area in front of Maarjamäe Castle, on Saku street, and next to the stairs at the railway crossing in Kitseküla.

A total of 28 new street urns will be added to the public space in Kesklinn. Previously, Rus.ERR highlighted that the issue of litter bins in Tallinn, particularly in the Old Town and its surroundings, remains unresolved. The new urns are part of efforts to improve urban cleanliness and address the ongoing problem of waste accumulation.

The installation will be carried out gradually, complementing existing infrastructure. The financial terms of the contract were not disclosed, but district officials emphasized that the project represents a long-term investment in the area's maintenance.
