Construction of Tallinn Film City Studio Complex to Begin This Winter
The Tallinn Film City studio complex construction is expected to start this winter, with completion in two years after an international tender.
Joonas Tartu, director of Tallinnfilm, told ERR that active construction work is scheduled to begin this winter. If all goes according to plan, the studio complex will be completed in two years.
Over the past year, the project has undergone updates and improvements. Tartu said the process has been thorough, and by the end of summer the final construction design should be ready, enabling an international construction tender to be announced by late summer or early autumn.
The tender is expected by the end of September at the latest. Selecting the winner will take several months, and Tartu hopes a construction contract will be signed by winter, allowing active work to start.
Extensive site preparation has been carried out, including removal of 10,000 tonnes of waste. The organizational identity of the complex has been developed, along with communication and marketing activities. The complex is already present on social media.
Tallinnfilm has also attended events such as the Cannes Film Festival to increase visibility.
