Phone Ad Haggling Ends With a One-Word Refusal and a Rude Reply
A screenshot shared on the social network Threads shows a phone seller answering a 350-euro price offer with a curt "no". Commenters have reacted in different ways to the exchange.

Social media users in Latvia are discussing a very short haggling exchange in an online ad for a phone. The screenshot was posted on the platform Threads by a user named Airita, and it has prompted a conversation about how bargaining works online.
According to the post, a prospective buyer asked whether the price could be agreed at 350 euros. The seller replied with a single word: "no". The buyer then told the seller to get lost, in a rude manner. The conversation thus ended almost as soon as it began.
Reactions in the comments
Commenters saw the situation differently. A user named Ieva described it as short and clear, while Kurba noted that it went without wasted words and was very direct. Artūrs, however, said it was not funny, since it shows what kind of society of inadequate people we live in. Jimbo joked that the buyer's mother must have raised a true gentleman.
Verza pointed out that the seller's reply, "nop", was not among the friendliest either.
A user named Chilli shared her own experience: she had listed an iPhone 14 Pro Max with 512 GB of storage for 600 euros. People wrote that they were ready to drive over and pick it up immediately for 300 euros. When she refused, the reply was that they had no more money.
Haggling as a tradition
Buying and selling is part of everyday life, where not only the value of an item matters but also the ability to agree on a mutually acceptable price. Haggling is an old trading tradition: the seller wants to earn money, while the buyer tries to get the item as favourably as possible.
