Talsi municipality calls for award nominations until October 1
Talsi municipality is inviting residents to nominate people and organizations for its highest municipal awards, to be presented on Latvia's Proclamation Day, with applications due by October 1.
The Talsi municipal council is again inviting residents to put forward candidates for its top municipal awards, which are traditionally presented on the anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic of Latvia. This year's nomination period runs until October 1.
The municipality hands out several types of recognition: the Excellence Award, the Recognition Award, the Honor Award, and the Gratitude Award, each with its own criteria and target group of nominees.
Who can nominate
Nominations may be submitted by municipal officials and institutions, legal entities registered in Talsi municipality, individuals whose declared residence or real estate is located in the municipality, people who work or run a business there, and groups of local residents.
Types of awards
The Excellence Award recognizes outstanding achievements that have brought recognition to Talsi municipality nationally or internationally. The Recognition Award honors significant contributions to the municipality's development, economy, healthcare, culture, sport, education or other important fields. The Honor Award is given for highly professional, honest or voluntary work, for shaping the municipality's public image, or for lifetime contributions, and is presented in the respective towns and parishes. The Gratitude Award recognizes excellent work or notable achievements at significant events.
How to apply
Nominations for the Excellence and Recognition Awards should be addressed to the municipality's Award Evaluation Commission, while nominations for the Honor Award go to the awards commission of the relevant town or parish administration. Suggestions for the Gratitude Award can also be submitted at town and parish administration offices.
Applications can be sent electronically to pasts@talsi.lv with a secure electronic signature, submitted in person at the Customer Service Center at Kareivju iela 7 in Talsi, delivered to any town or parish administration office, or sent by post. All applications must be received by October 1.
