Vicinskis dominates all-wheel-drive classes at Talsi rally sprint round
Artis Vicinskis claimed a double win in the all-wheel-drive classes at the Talsi round of the Latvian Autosprint Cup, while several other drivers topped their respective categories. One round remains before the season concludes at Biķernieki circuit on October 24.
The Talsi round of the Latvian Autosprint Cup saw Artis Vicinskis deliver the standout performance, driving a Subaru Impreza to victory in both the 4WD and 4WD OPEN classifications, comfortably beating his rivals in the all-wheel-drive categories.
In the 4WD class, Jānis Lazdiņš (Subaru Impreza) finished second and Elmārs Aukšmuksts (Subaru Impreza) took third. In 4WD OPEN, Jānis Sockis (Subaru Impreza) and Elmārs Aukšmuksts (Subaru Impreza) rounded out the podium behind Vicinskis.
Front-wheel-drive classes
In the 1600 class, Jānis Aleksejevs won driving a Honda Civic, with Roberts Bērziņš (Citroen C2) second and Mārtiņš Bembers (VW Golf mk4) third. Aleksejevs also triumphed in the 2000 class, ahead of Oskars Pugovičs (Honda) and Oskars Remess (Honda Civic). In the FWD OPEN classification, however, it was Pugovičs who took the win, finishing ahead of Bērziņš and Remess.
Other classifications
In the AUDI QUATTRO category, Ainis Mušperts (Audi A4) won ahead of Sandis Indriksons and Māris Mellups. In the women's classification, Renita Aukšmukste (Subaru Impreza) was unbeaten, followed by Beāte Andersone and Aiga Rasa.
Among juniors, Aksels Gromovs (BMW 318) took the win ahead of Rafaels Rubenis and Aleks Mušperts. In the RWD class, Patriks Gromovs (BMW) triumphed, with Hugo Otomers and Aksels Gromovs completing the podium. In RWD OPEN, Otomers claimed first place, with Markuss Upītis second and Horenss Rozītis third.
One round remains in the Latvian Autosprint Cup — the sixth, set to take place on October 24 at the Biķernieki circuit in Riga.
