Welco, a football club from the Estonian city of Tartu, held a champions' parade on the Emajõgi River on Saturday, 24 October. The team won Estonia's first division and will play in the Premium Liiga, the country's top tier, for the first time.

A champions' parade for the football club Welco took place in the Estonian city of Tartu on Saturday, 24 October. The team won this season's first division, the second tier of Estonian football, and earned a place in the country's elite division, the Premium Liiga, for the first time.
Celebration on the water
The club celebrated the promotion with a colourful trip along the Emajõgi River, which runs through Tartu. Many of the team's supporters gathered in the city centre near the Arch Bridge (Kaarsild) to greet the players. The event was reported by ERR's news programme Aktuaalne Kaamera.
Attendance record
This year Welco and its fans, known as the Electric Legion, set an attendance record for first-division matches. On average, more than 400 spectators attended each of the team's home games.
The source does not describe how the title was secured or what the club plans for its debut season among the elite. What is known is that Welco will take part in Estonia's highest football league for the first time, and the river parade gave the club a way to mark that achievement together with the city's residents and supporters.
