Tartuff Film Festival Extended to Eight Days, Announces Lineup
The 21st Tartuff festival in Tartu will run from August 8 to 15, featuring 13 feature films and 8 shorts from around the world.
Tartuff 2024: Extended Schedule and International Program
The 21st edition of the Tartu-based film festival Tartuff will take place from August 8 to 15 this year – two days longer than before. The lineup includes 13 feature films and 8 short films from Europe, Asia, the Americas and Australia.
A total of 14 films will be screened on the large outdoor screen at Raekoja plats, while documentaries and children's films will be shown at Tartu Elektriteater. For the first time, the festival features a curated selection of short films exploring love and human relationships.
The opening film is the Thai drama "Gohan" directed by Chayanop Boonprakob, Nattawut Poonpiriya and Atta Hemwadee. Inspired by stray dogs and modern loneliness, it follows a rescued dog whose journey through three different homes changes the lives of everyone he meets.
The closing night will feature Baz Luhrmann's musical classic "Moulin Rouge!" celebrating its 25th anniversary. Tartuff is the largest open-air film festival in the Baltics, attracting 12,000 visitors last year.
