On July 19, Teledome hosted the 71st birthday celebration of ETV, attended by former and current staff. The tradition of gathering at noon has been upheld for many years.

Hosted by Carmel Killandi, the event featured a speech from editor-in-chief of ETV and ETV2, Urmas Oru. He likened the occasion to a family pancake breakfast, where everyone who loves ETV comes together. Looking ahead to autumn, Oru promised that ETV would continue its core programs while also surprising viewers.

Board member Mart Luik emphasized that it is the people who put creative energy into television, thanking everyone present. The late colleague Enn Eesmaa, who turned 80 this year, was fondly remembered. He had stated that although he worked for four different channels, his best years were spent at Estonian television. Eesmaa stressed that national TV and radio must exist, as they are needed both in good times and bad.

The celebration featured performances by award-winning singers Heidi Tamme, Voldemar Kuslap, and Mait Maltis, accompanied by Ülo Mälgand. All artists maintain a close relationship with the channel.
