Tesla Cybercab is the lightest, most efficient Tesla ever made

Tesla has filed EPA paperwork revealing the Cybercab's specs: it weighs just 3,113 pounds, achieves 165 Wh/mile efficiency, and has an estimated real-world range of 290-300 miles.

Tesla has officially certified its autonomous two-seater Cybercab with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The filings show it is the lightest and most efficient Tesla vehicle ever produced. The Cybercab weighs just 3,113 pounds, roughly 700 pounds less than the lightest Model 3. This weight reduction is achieved by removing the steering wheel and other traditional controls, as the vehicle is designed for full autonomy.

The Cybercab is equipped with a single 219-horsepower front motor and a 48 kWh battery pack. Its unadjusted range is listed at 418 miles, but real-world EPA testing is expected to yield around 290-300 miles. Efficiency is rated at 165 watt-hours per mile, making it the most efficient EV on the market — compared to the Lucid Air's 230 Wh/mi. This means the Cybercab can travel about 6 miles per kilowatt-hour of energy.

Despite being in production, Tesla has not yet announced a clear operational plan. The company currently operates fewer than 60 Model Y robotaxis in a handful of Texas cities and is seeking permits to launch services in Las Vegas and several Florida cities. No specific date for the Cybercab's deployment has been provided.
