Tesla Q2 vehicle deliveries up 25% year-over-year
Tesla delivered approximately 480,000 vehicles globally in the second quarter of 2026, a 25% increase from a year ago, marking the first year-over-year delivery growth in two years.

Tesla has announced its second-quarter delivery statistics for 2026, showing a significant turnaround. The company delivered roughly 480,000 vehicles worldwide during this period, a 25% increase compared to the same quarter last year. This is the first year-over-year delivery growth Tesla has experienced in two years, and the results exceeded Wall Street estimates. The majority of deliveries came from the Model 3 and Model Y, accounting for about 468,000 units, while other models including the Cybertruck and Model X made up the remaining 12,000 deliveries. The Cybertruck continues to struggle with consumers but has found success within Elon Musk's own companies.
Several factors contributed to the sales boost. A war in Iran since February has significantly impacted gas prices, which were at their peak during the second quarter. Rising fuel costs have also given Tesla a new foothold in Europe. The company recently announced a major expansion of its Gigafactory in Berlin, aiming to increase production to 7,500 vehicles per week by October. Germany introduced a new EV subsidy program offering low-income households up to $7,000 toward a purchase or lease. Additionally, Tesla had built up inventory from previous overproduction—in Q1, it produced 50,000 more vehicles than it delivered—allowing it to meet surging demand.
Despite the positive delivery news, Tesla's stock dropped by about 7% following the announcement.
