Father pays tribute to 'sweetest little boy' Noah after search tragedy

A major search operation in Suffolk, England, has ended in tragedy after the body of three-year-old Noah Woods was found in a pond near the village of Brantham.
Noah went missing from a playground on Tuesday at around 15:00 BST after becoming separated from a relative. Over the following 24 hours, at least 1,300 people joined the search effort, with volunteers travelling from as far away as Birmingham and Hampshire to help. Helicopters, dog units and members of the public scoured the area near the River Stour, on the border between Suffolk and Essex.
On Wednesday afternoon, a child's body was discovered in a nearby pond. Noah was from the village of East Bergholt.
A father's words
Noah's father, Rhys Woods, posted a heartfelt tribute on Facebook thanking everyone involved in the search. He described his son as "the sweetest and most innocent little boy, with nothing but love to give," saying the family would miss him deeply.
Woods said that throughout the search, the family had clung to hope that Noah was simply hiding somewhere and would soon be found safe. He called the eventual outcome the most heartbreaking they could have faced. He noted that the search had touched people across the entire country and thanked emergency services, local businesses and residents of the village for their overwhelming support during the darkest time of the family's lives.
The post ended with a direct message to Noah, saying he would be loved forever and never forgotten, and that it had been a privilege to be his parent during the short three years they had together.
