Therabody has released the second generation of its Theragun Sense, a $299 massage gun aimed at everyday relaxation, muscle tension relief, and light soreness rather than intense deep-tissue recovery. Those seeking heavier-duty features like heat therapy should instead look at the Theragun PRO or Prime.
Guided routines on an LCD screen
The device's built-in LCD screen walks users step by step through where to apply the massage gun, how long to spend on each area, and how much pressure to use. It ships with four built-in routines, with additional ones available through the Therabody app and syncable to the device via Bluetooth. Among the routines is a six-minute "Sleep" routine offering a quick full-body massage before bed, along with options like "Pre-Walk Warm-up," "Desk Relief," and "Lower Back Recovery."
Adjustable intensity
The Theragun Sense offers five speed settings, ranging from a gentle touch to deeper tension release. Its lightweight design makes it easy to reach areas like the back and shoulders. For more personalization, the Therabody app includes an AI feature called Coach, which recommends target areas, settings, or attachments, and suggests when to fit a recovery session into the user's day based on their goals and activity.
Quiet operation and accessories
The motor runs relatively quietly, making it usable while watching TV without being a distraction. The device comes with a USB-C charging cable, a travel pouch, and two attachments — a Standard Ball and a Dampener designed for knots and tender spots. A separate "Supersoft" attachment for extra-sensitive areas is available for $35.
