The Commercial Court of Chernihiv Oblast in Ukraine has ruled that Russia must pay UAH 161.31 million (about US$3.54 million) in damages to Korfad LLC, a company that makes interior doors in the town of Koriukivka. Its production buildings were destroyed or badly damaged during Russia's war against Ukraine.

What happened

On 25 November 2025, Russian drones struck the interior door plant in Koriukivka during a large-scale attack on Chernihiv Oblast. Buildings were damaged by direct hits and by falling drone debris. Most of them can no longer be used.

An assessment by the expert consulting firm Desna-Expert put the damage at UAH 161.31 million, broken down as follows:

  • UAH 143.84 million – a 12,815 sq m production building on Zavodska Street;
  • UAH 5.81 million – a 481 sq m carpentry and turning shop on Sadova Street;
  • UAH 6.44 million – a 532 sq m logistics warehouse on Sadova Street;
  • UAH 5.2 million – a 465 sq m maintenance station at 4 Sadova Street.

The ruling

The court upheld the claims in full. The money is to be recovered from Russia, represented by the Russian Prosecutor General's Office. Russia must also cover UAH 225,000 for the technical inspection of the buildings and UAH 162,500 for the independent damage assessment.

About the company

Korfad's founders are Oleksandr Mysnyk, who also heads the company, Mykola Mysnyk and Lidiia Mysnyk. The company's website says it produces panelled and flush interior doors and mouldings, using Italian Sincropan protective and decorative coatings. Its production facilities cover 15,000 sq m.

A similar earlier ruling

The Commercial Court of Odesa Oblast previously ordered Russia to pay UAH 291.59 million (US$6.49 million) to Expansion Retail PrJSC after a missile strike destroyed the Fozzy shopping centre in Odesa.
