During an earnings call on Thursday, Apple CEO Tim Cook suggested that the company plans to offer additional iCloud Plus options for users who want to expand their artificial intelligence usage. He noted that people will likely want to use Apple Intelligence and the upcoming Siri AI extensively, so new service tiers will be introduced that allow users to 'buy up the stack.'

This fall, Apple will broadly launch its long-delayed Siri AI with iOS 27. The new feature can answer questions about on-screen content and take actions across apps. A standalone Siri AI app with a ChatGPT-like interface will also be available.

In June, Apple stated that its AI features, including image generation, have daily usage limits because they rely on powerful server models. The company already offers 'increased access' through most iCloud Plus plans, but it appears Apple wants to add specific tiers for those who plan to use AI features heavily.

Over the past few months, Apple's services business, which includes iCloud Plus, Apple TV, and Apple One subscriptions, generated $30.74 billion in revenue.
