Several league and cup matches involving Latvian players at foreign clubs took place, spanning competitions in Scotland, Hungary, Norway and the Netherlands.

Scotland

Tobers returned to the Aberdeen matchday squad for a Scottish Premiership game for the first time in a year. The player, who is just under 26, appeared in only one league match for Aberdeen last season and suffered a serious knee injury in it.

Falkirk, who claimed their third straight win, scored the only goal in the 73rd minute. Meļņiks was substituted eight minutes earlier. After 11 rounds Falkirk have 15 points and sit in the top six, while Aberdeen have 11 points and are ninth.

Hungary

In the Hungarian Cup round of 16th-finals, Nyíregyháza Spartacus needed extra time to beat third-tier side Ózd-Sajóvölgye 3-1. Striker Marko Regža came on in the 85th minute and in the 108th minute converted a penalty to score the winning goal.

Norway and the Netherlands

Latvia national team midfielder Lūkass Vapne played the full match, but second-tier Sogndal lost 2-1 to Lillestrøm, a participant in the main phase of the UEFA Europa League, in the Norwegian Cup 1/16 final.

In the Dutch Cup 1/32 final, Roberts Uldriķis did not play as Heerenveen beat fourth-tier Excelsior Maassluis 2-0. Dario Šits also watched from the sidelines as second-tier Dordrecht lost 3-2 to fourth-tier Genemuiden.
