Trabzonspor confirm they have started Salah talks

Turkish club Trabzonspor have confirmed that they have opened negotiations with Egypt international Mohamed Salah. According to a statement, the 34-year-old forward is due to arrive in Istanbul on Wednesday and is expected to reach Trabzon later that evening. Salah left Liverpool at the end of last season after a nine-year spell at the club. He joined Liverpool from Roma in June 2017. During his time there, he won two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, the FA Cup, two EFL Cups and the Community Shield.

On the international stage, Salah was part of the Egypt side that reached the last 16 of the 2026 World Cup, where they lost 3-2 to Argentina, who went on to become finalists.

Trabzonspor are currently in talks with Salah as a free agent, with his Liverpool contract having expired. The club's announcement suggests negotiations are progressing, but no final agreement has been disclosed yet.
