Trabzonspor confirm they have started Salah talks
Turkish club Trabzonspor have announced they have begun negotiations to sign Mohamed Salah. The 34-year-old Egypt forward left Liverpool at the end of last season and is in talks to join as a free agent.

Turkish club Trabzonspor have confirmed that they have opened negotiations with Egypt international Mohamed Salah. According to a statement, the 34-year-old forward is due to arrive in Istanbul on Wednesday and is expected to reach Trabzon later that evening. The club said further details about the welcome programme in Trabzon will be shared through their official communication channels during the day.
Salah left Liverpool at the end of last season after a nine-year spell at the club. He joined Liverpool from Roma in June 2017. During his time there, he won two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, the FA Cup, two EFL Cups and the Community Shield.
On the international stage, Salah was part of the Egypt side that reached the last 16 of the 2026 World Cup, where they lost 3-2 to Argentina, who went on to become finalists.
Trabzonspor are currently in talks with Salah as a free agent, with his Liverpool contract having expired. The club's announcement suggests negotiations are progressing, but no final agreement has been disclosed yet. Supporters are awaiting further details, which the club says will be released through official channels.
