Tragedy in Imanta: 22-Year-Old Man Dies Under Train Wheels
On Saturday in Riga's Imanta district, a 22-year-old man died after being hit by a passenger train. The incident is believed to have been intentional.

A tragic incident occurred on Saturday in the Imanta neighborhood of Riga, where a 22-year-old man was struck and killed by a passenger train. Based on eyewitness accounts and the circumstances, it is suspected that the young man's actions were deliberate rather than accidental.
The train was approaching from the direction of Babīte, where the tracks are clearly visible. The driver spotted the person, applied emergency brakes, and sounded the horn, but was unable to avoid the collision. An eyewitness who was in a nearby garden reported hearing a very loud signal, indicating that the driver had tried to warn the victim.
Medical personnel attempted to resuscitate the man, but the impact proved fatal. The consequences were severe—his arm was torn off, and his body was thrown several meters forward.
