Tragic accident on Iecava-Jelgava road: 18-year-old woman killed

On Friday afternoon, July 10, a collision of two cars on the Iecava-Jelgava highway near Zālītes school resulted in the death of a young woman and injuries to four others.

A fatal car accident occurred on Friday afternoon on the Iecava-Jelgava road, near Zālītes school. Two vehicles collided, killing an approximately 18-year-old woman, according to the TV show "Degpunktā" and the Emergency Medical Service.

Four other people were injured in the crash, three seriously and two lightly. All victims were taken to hospitals. The accident was reportedly caused by an overtaking maneuver.
